The electrical section features the SRT (Studio Resonance Technology) powered system, which is also used in the SLG200S/SLG200N and has been well received. The SRT Powered system applies acoustic processing to the signal from the piezo pick-up to produce a high-quality acoustic sound as if it were recorded with a microphone by a top-notch engineer in a studio.

In the SLG200NW, YAMAHA's classical guitar developers were also involved in the sound creation process, in pursuit of a sound more suited to classical guitar players. Despite its unique design with no resonating body, the SLG200NW delivers a deep, rich acoustic sound that expresses the sound of the classical guitar body and the space in which it is being played. The sound of the'SRT Powered' system can also be blended with the sound of the piezo pick-up in the desired proportions, allowing a wide range of sounds to be created to suit the player's preferences. In addition to being highly quiet thanks to its unique design with no resonance body, it is also highly portable, as the left frame can be removed for compact storage in the included special case.

This means that it can be taken not only into the room but also casually out and about, allowing you to enjoy playing anywhere and at any time. The preamplifier also features three built-in effects, including reverb, and a tuner, as well as an AUX IN jack for connection to portable music players and other devices, and a LINE OUT jack for connection to amplifiers and PA systems, providing a highly convenient specification.
